Winter Sangria with Red Wine

Ingredients
- 1 bottle of dry red wine (recommended: Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva available at vinosylicores.com)
- 1 cup of natural orange juice
- 1/2 cup orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- 1/4 cup honey syrup (mix equal parts honey and hot water)
- 1 orange (thinly sliced)
- 1 red apple (diced)
- 1 green apple (diced)
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 star anise
- Ice (optional)

Prepare the sangria base: In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, orange juice, and orange liqueur. Stir well.

Add fruits and spices: Stir the orange slices, apple cubes, and cranberries into the mixture. Add the cinnamon stick and star anise.

Sweeten to taste: Add the honey syrup little by little, tasting to adjust the sweetness level to your preference.

Refrigerate: Let the sangria sit in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to blend.

Serving: Serve in glasses over ice, or chilled if desired. Garnish each glass with an orange slice or cranberry.
